About BaseKG
BaseKG is a general knowledge graph: 1,063,614 entities and 6,905,330 facts about people, places, events, works and ideas, each entity with an identifier that doesn't change, joined into one graph you can query and explore.
The information is sourced from Wikidata, Wikipedia and other sources. Most of it comes from Wikidata; we complement it with facts read out of Wikipedia text by a language model. Every fact records which source it came from, and we publish how well each kind has been checked.
It includes recent events, such as the 2026 Winter Olympics. It is not a live feed: each release is built from a snapshot of its sources, so the newest facts trail the news by weeks or months.
BaseKG is made by David Wheaton at Wheaton Tech Foundry. The same methods can build a knowledge graph over your own subject: knowledge engineering. A reviewed sample of the graph is available to evaluators on request, under a license agreement.
